Jamila Mellers serves as Consult Coordinator at Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers, where she is often the first point of contact for prospective clients in North Texas taking the first step toward legal help. She brings nearly a decade of experience in fast-paced, detail-driven environments to the role, paired with a steady combination of empathy, organization, and clear communication.

Before joining the firm, Jamila spent several years in legal case management, at times independently managing between 130 and 180 active cases in a given month. In that role, she worked closely with attorneys, clients, and insurance providers to move cases toward resolution, coordinated medical documentation and treatment details, and communicated regularly with clients to keep them informed and supported. She also has experience as a legal assistant, conducting independent research with medical providers and witnesses, drafting formal correspondence, and training incoming staff on office procedures and case-management software.

Jamila's background also includes time spent supporting students with disabilities in a school setting, where she balanced firmness with compassion and kept meticulous records to track behavioral progress. That experience sharpened many of the same qualities she brings to prospective clients today: patience, attentiveness, and the ability to make people feel heard during an unfamiliar and often stressful process.

As Consult Coordinator, Jamila helps guide individuals and families through their first steps toward legal help — scheduling consultations, answering initial questions, and making sure every prospective client feels supported from their very first contact with the firm. Her background in legal case management gives her a practical understanding of what clients need as they prepare to meet with an attorney, and her communication skills help set a calm, confident tone for the client experience from day one.
