What is Collaborative Divorce?

Collaborative Divorce is a process where the parties and their respective lawyers agree to resolve their differences outside of court. This is possible when both parties openly share all of the information needed to resolve their pending issues and agree to work out their differences. There are some pros and cons to collaborative divorce. However, we have found that the collaborative law process can make legal cases, such as divorce, more positive experiences for all parties. Many clients actually prefer collaborative divorce for a number of reasons.

The benefits of collaborative divorce are many. Our clients who have opted to utilize the collaborative divorce process have found that the collaborative approach can

  • allow you to make your own decisions and remain in control
  • cost less than taking your case to court
  • preserve relationships with your spouse
  • provide more privacy

In addition to three of our attorneys being board certified, many of them are trained in the process for collaborative divorce in Texas. The attorney being trained and having experience is important for those seeking this approach. Please review attorney bios for this information.

“Tyler Livingston was such a pivotal part in helping me”
First off I must say that this law firm saved me at least six months of a headache and so much money in the end. Tyler Livingston was such a pivotal part in helping me sell my deceased mother's property. We had to probate a will within a three week period and he put in the extra time and effort to ensure the success of our trial. The professionalism, the care and concern, not to mention the wanting to help someone with their family problems. If I ever have another family concern or worry I know the first person I am going to call. I cannot thank him enough for what he has done to help.

The Coker, Robb & Cannon law office did an exceptional job supporting me through a difficult divorce process. The team of Lauren and Toya were professional, highly responsive, and empathic. While moments like these are never easy or desirable, Lauren and Toya made the process easier each step of the way. The support and care received was great, and I would highly recommend this team for anyone looking for excellent legal support and representation through the process.

“Honest, trustworthy, sympathetic, above and beyond”
Ms. Robb reviewed multiple documents of my case before the consultation and analyzed the case reasonably and honestly. She is knowledgeable, sympathetic, and shows strong ethic. She even sent me an email to summarize our consultation before signing the hiring agreement. I am so thankful to her for doing above and beyond. Waiting to see the progress.

“The Best Lawyer for a time in your life when you need the truth!”
I had a nasty divorce going with my ex-wife who was using one of the High Power Dallas Lawyers that was intent on making things difficult and costing both of us most of the money we were fighting over. Duane was able to calm me down and came up with an idea for the settlement that not only saved me and the ex money, but actually made his fees LESS EXPENSIVE!!! You will not hear of that many times with any lawyer. I would recommend him for a simple divorce or a complex one with all of the circumstances that always make things difficult. He just has a way of working things out with all parties that make so much sense the case gets settled and everyone gets what they want.
