About TBLS

TBLS is authorized by the Supreme Court of Texas to “promote the availability, accessibility and quality of the services of attorneys to the public in particular areas of the law... and advance the standards of the legal profession.”

The Board certifies attorneys in 25 specific areas of law and paralegals in eight specific areas. TBLS serves as a resource by listing all certified attorneys and paralegals on their online database, working to ensure that the citizens of Texas receive the highest quality legal services.

Board Certification is a voluntary designation program, certifying Texas attorneys in areas such as child welfare, juvenile, and family law.
